Project Description

Streamlined Assessment

Our confidential and simple assessment process can be done in person, over the phone or by video chat.

Selecting an appropriate residential treatment program can be a difficult undertaking. We will make the process as simple and easy as possible.

In Melbourne, we offer a large range of assessment opportunities including a free assessment from Dr Asher at his St Kilda based clinic which can be charged through Medicare. Alternatively, we can arrange a home assessment free of charge anywhere in most other states.

Residents from outside of Australia can contact us directly at the programme for an over the phone assessment or we can arrange a video conference chat.

Through this process our number one priority is to work closely with residents, family members, loved ones, and health professionals to galvanise all support networks together to accurately identify current program suitability.

The simplest process is a self-referral made by you or a family member or loved one through our questionnaire below.

Or you can print out our referral form and take it to your local health professional to assist you through the entire process.

Self Assessment

At Oceans we are not exclusive. We offer a completely integrated program, incorporating multiple treatment modalities whilst engaging existing support networks you might already be in contact with and working together with them to provide the most beneficial outcomes. We don’t pretend to magically cure anyone of anything. We work together with teams, other professionals and only support evidence-based approaches.

Many people hate going through assessments process and having to tell their story over and over again to multiple different people. We make it very simple. You will only have to explain your situation to us once. From that point onwards we make the necessary arrangements to prepare you for the program or make appropriate referrals on your behalf.

In the Australian AOD/Mental Health residential rehabilitation public health sector telling your story over and again to numerous people at various different agencies is not an uncommon practice. After which time individuals will then put on a waiting list, which in some cases could take upwards of six months a person can get a bed in a residential rehab. Oceans recognize the importance of timing when receiving the right treatment for AOD/Mental Health related issues.

Selecting the right treatment program is extremely important. We understand that this is a big leap and a significant financial investment. Which is why we would like you and your loved one to be one hundred precent confident they have made the right choice by entering our program and we can all work together to build a stable recovery for both family members and loved ones.

Our number one priority is to work closely with residents, family members, loved ones, and health professionals to galvanise all support networks together to accurately identify current program suitability. We cannot guarantee any magical cures or quick fixes, however we can guarantee:

  • A safe, supportive and collaborative environment

  • Latest research driven evidence based practice

  • Highest levels of professionalism and transparancy

  • Solutions focused client driven outcomes

  • Integrated approaches, multiple pathways to recovery

  • Confidentiality, continuity of care and ongoing support
